The fuselage section is built following actual construction methods where possible, using factory drawings purchased from spitfire restorations. The formers shown are for frames 8 and 11. These were made first so the rudder support frame work could be made to test the force feedback system. Frame 11 assembly. Frame 8 former. Close up of the main spar booms, these were made to be load bearing as they will be used to support the cockpit section and for stability. Frame 12 former. The photos below show the rear rudder support frame parts. As can be seen in the photos the parts count is quite high on this item. The parts shown as they will be assembled. Work on the cockpit section assembly is underway, frames 8 and 9 are now joined together by the rudder/control column support frame.
